The City of Birmingham has received a planning grant of $800,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The money, part of the $185 million Reconnecting Communities Pilot Program, will be used to reconnect communities that are cut off from opportunity by existing transportation infrastructure. – Bham Now

Construction Partners names new CFO

Dothan-based Construction Partners, which specializes in construction and maintenance of roadways in the Southeast, has named Greg Hoffman as its new chief financial officer. Hoffman will succeed Alan Palmer on March 31, and Palmer will maintain an advisory and mentoring role.  – Construction Partners Inc.

Innovate Alabama board meets in Troy

Innovate Alabama held its first board meeting of the year at Troy University. Among other things, the group announced it will offer Innovation City designations and will create a statewide network to connect entrepreneurs and businesses with resources. – Alabama Political Reporter
