The City of Birmingham has received a planning grant of $800,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation. Dothan-based Construction Partners, which specializes in construction and maintenance of roadways in the Southeast, has named Greg Hoffman as its new chief financial officer. Innovate Alabama held its first board meeting of the year at Troy University. Among other things, the group announced it will offer Innovation City designations and will create a statewide network to connect entrepreneurs and businesses with resources. – Alabama Political Reporter
