AmFirst’s Phil Boozer receives Credit Union Professional of the Year Award

Boozer has served AmFirst for 38 years

Phil Boozer, senior vice president and chief sales officer of America’s First Federal Credit Union, has received the 2022 Alabama Credit Union Professional of the Year award from the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates. This award recognizes individuals who advance the credit union movement in their respective states.

Boozer, who has been with AmFirst for 38 years, has served in a number of roles, including vice president of marketing, membership development manager, assistant vice president operations, branch manager and loan officer. Currently, he serves as senior vice president and chief sales officer, overseeing AmFirst’s financial, marketing, membership development and community engagement endeavors.

“There is no one more deserving of this industry award than Phil, and we are thrilled that his longtime commitment to AmFirst and to the members we serve is being honored,” said Bill Connor, AmFirst president and CEO.

Over the years, Boozer has worked to improve member services, deploying new products to meet member needs and adhering to evolving technology and trends. Under his leadership, AmFirst has received a number of industry awards recognizing its community service, including being recognized by Forbes as one of the top three Best Credit Unions in Alabama.

Under Boozer’s watch, AmFirst has distributed more than $900,000 to community partners through its Community First Initiative. Additionally, Boozer has spearheaded volunteer efforts, working with Habitat for Humanity, AmFirst’s volunteer program and the annual charity sporting clays and golf tournaments.
