DC Scientific Pest Control, with offices in Tuscaloosa, Birmingham and Winfield, has been acquired by Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators. The offices will operate now under the name Stark Exterminators, which is an Arrow brand.
Praising the quality of DC Scientific’s services, Arrow CEO Emily Thomas Kendrick said, “This acquisition will expand our footprint in central Alabama with three new offices, bringing our total to 13 service centers operating in central and lower Alabama.”
Ann Majcher, owner of DC Scientific, which was founded in 1964, said that when she started considering a merger, she was looking for a good home for her employees and one focused on customer service.
“I found that in Arrow Exterminators, and we are proud to join the Arrow family and continue the legacy that my dad started over 55 years ago,” she said. “I also looked for a company that would provide our employees with many growth opportunities and I know we have found that in Arrow.”
The merger is a good move for Arrow, said Tim Pollard, the company’s president and chief operating officer.
“DC Scientific Pest Control is extremely well regarded in central Alabama with a reputation that is unmatched, and we are very proud to have these 30 professionals join the Arrow team,” he said. “Strong profitable growth in the state of Alabama is strategic to meeting our objectives as we continue to build this great privately-owned family company. Arrow, also founded in 1964, is the nation’s sixth-largest pest and termite control company by revenue, with revenues exceeding $275 million. In 2020, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution ranked it the top workplace in Atlanta. It provides home and business services in Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
