UAB startup receives NIH grant

Alveolus Bio, a startup founded by an associated professor in the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Pediatrics, has received a $2.5 million Small Business Innovation Research FastTrack grant from the National Institutes of Health. Alveolus Bio creates inhaled therapeutics for chronic lung diseases. – University of Alabama at Birmingham

Alabama delegation criticizes Air Force’s tanker decision

A decision by the U.S. Air Force to halt competition for a bridge tanker contract has drawn criticism from the Alabama Congressional delegation. The Air Force’s decision likely postpones plans for Airbus to construct a new assembly plant in Mobile.  – AL.com

Alabama Power announces leadership changes   

Alabama Power has announced a number of leadership changes, effective immediately.
