Aerojet Rocketdyne, already a major presence in Huntsville, is expanding with a new 379,000-square-foot facility.
The facility, which will increase manufacturing and office space, is near Huntsville International Airport and is expected to be operational in 2023.
“Huntsville has been home to Aerojet Rocketdyne’s Defense Headquarters since its founding, and with this expansion of both talent and space, we’re pleased to grow our presence in the Rocket City,” said Eileen P. Drake, Aerojet Rocketdyne CEO and president.
The Huntsville expansion includes transitioning some work currently being performed at the company’s Camden, Arkansas, location.
Aerojet Rocketdyne established Huntsville as its defense headquarters six years ago and currently employs more than 800 people.
