Associated Builders and Contractors of Alabama has launched a quarterly newsletter for its members devoted to insights about the supply chain.

The newsletter, called “Construction Supply Chain Briefing,” launched at a luncheon in Birmingham on Wednesday and includes extensive information about specific supply chain issues in a number of categories, including metal studs/drywall, roofing and doors/frames/hardware. The information includes anticipated delay times when ordering specific items.

The inaugural newsletter from ABC of Alabama also has information on the cost of construction materials, how inflation compares to wages, numbers of job openings and best practices for dealing with supply chain delays.

ABC of Alabama “worked diligently to compile the best possible comprehensive look at the supply chain issues and complexities in our industry,” ABC of Alabama Chairman John Windle said in an introductory letter. “We have curated a newsletter with one primary goal in mind – to deliver an abundance of valuable insights, trends and expert opinions.”

Wednesday’s luncheon included a supply chain panel that included Ashley Dyer of Robins & Morton, Kevin Cordell of Hardy Corp., Douglas Lee of Brasfield & Gorrie, Joe Leavens of Balch and David Salters of Warren Averett.
