The University of Montevallo has hired Clent Davis as the new head coach of the university’s bass fishing team. In addition, April Jones, assistant professor of educational research at UM, was awarded the 2026 American Educational Research Association Division D Outstanding Dissertation Award.

The University of Mobile has hired Mike Doig as its head basketball coach.

Reid State Community College has hired Jason Hopkins as its new men’s basketball coach. In addition, college President Coretta Boykin has been named 2026 Citizen of the Year by the Evergreen-Conecuh Chamber of Commerce.
