Louisiana company building facility in Dothan
Louisiana-based J&M Industries, which manufactures protective covers, custom tarps and packaging supplies, will build a 70,000-square-foot production and distribution facility at the Houston County Distribution Park in Dothan. Construction is expected to begin later this year. – Bama Buzz
Cullman County manufacturer closing
Serta Simmons, a bedding company, will close its plant in Good Hope in Cullman County. The plant employs 130-150 people. The closure is planned for April. – The Cullman Times

Saks Fifth Avenue will close its lone Alabama location, at the Summit in Birmingham, at the end of April. The parent company of the luxury retailer filed for bankruptcy protection in January. – AL.com
