Saraland opens indoor complex at The Land

The 78,000-square-foot facility features room for multiple sports

Saraland officials and others open the indoor complex at The Land.

The city of Saraland has opened its first phase of The Land Sports & Recreation Complex, a 100-acre, $72 million project.

The 78,000-square-foot indoor complex features four basketball courts, eight volleyball courts, 12 indoor pickleball courts, two multipurpose rooms, an indoor walking track and locker room facilities. It also houses The Fitness Den, a full-service fitness center offering monthly and annual memberships.

“The Land Sports & Recreation Complex represents our investment in people, health and community,” said Mayor Joe McDonald. “This facility is more than just fields and courts. It is a gathering place where families, athletes, residents and visitors come together to learn, move, compete and belong.”

During the ongoing construction phase, baseball and softball diamonds will remain closed during the weekdays but reopen to the public each evening after 5 p.m.

The project is being managed by Hoar Program Management, and KemperSports has been selected to manage the facility.
