The Economic Development Partnership of Alabama has acquired Birmingham Bound, an initiative that has attracted more than 20 tech companies to the Birmingham area since its founding in 2018.
The program, which was created by Birmingham-based firm Shipt, will serve as a cornerstone for statewide lead generation strategy for tech companies.
āOur plan is to make Birmingham Bound a statewide initiative,ā said Miller Girvin, president of the EDPA. āThis development allows us to use proven methods weāve refined with our business intelligence team at AL Intel to target specific companies, pursue high-potential leads and highlight Alabamaās unique value proposition for early-stage businesses.ā
The EDPA outlined three key objectives for the new strategy: targeting specific companies, building on existing partnerships across the state; and strengthening Alabamaās reputation as a hub for innovation.
The EDPA will hire a director of technology company business attraction to lead the new initiative.
