Paige Vinson is the director of High Throughput Screening (HTS) at Southern Research in Birmingham. There, she and her team are testing various compounds using advanced technologies to identify what could become treatments for diseases such as COVID-19. Vinson joined Southern Research, the independent, nonprofit scientific research organization, in 2021. Previously, she was the director of HTS at Vanderbilt University and a leader in the molecular pharmacology group at the Warren Center for Neuroscience Drug Discovery. She also previously worked for Thermo Fisher Scientific’s laboratory automation business unit providing high-throughput solutions to its clients. Vinson has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of South Alabama and a doctorate in analytical chemistry from Emory University.
