Birmingham native and entrepreneur Nichole Thompson is executive director of The Lab on Dexter, a business innovation center in Montgomery. Thompson oversees the facility, which the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce opened last year. The Lab facilitates innovation and tech, supports business incubation with co-working spaces and small business suites, as well as collaborative learning for tech and innovation students, professionals and entrepreneurs. Thompson’s own business pursuits include founding a nonprofit called She Wins Global. The organization advances the cause of women and girls in disadvantaged and marginalized communities around the world. She also launched Ada Chic Designs, a handbag company supporting the work of entrepreneurs across Africa.
