Clare Kranz is an Auburn University assistant clinical professor of nursing and a startup whiz who founded WELLBLOxS, a patient self-care education platform that aims to improve health outcomes and quality of life while also lowering costs and hospital readmissions. She drew from her clinical and research expertise to create the platform that features alerts, tracking and gaming while simultaneously teaching patients how to manage their chronic illnesses, make lifestyle changes and self-care while recuperating from medical procedures. Kranz has bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is also a certified nurse practitioner.
