Boeing and Nucor, both with heavy presences in Alabama, made the Wall Street Journal’s list of S&P 500 companies with a median salary of $100,000 or more for its employees. Both were among 140 companies nationwide with that distinction.  – AL.com

 

Main Street Alabama picks four new cities

Four Alabama cities have received the Main Street Alabama designation and will receive development assistance from the nonprofit group. Main Street Alabama’s new designees are Demopolis, LaFayette, Leeds and Talladega.   – Main Street Alabama

Birmingham now third-largest city

Birmingham has dropped below Huntsville and Montgomery and is now Alabama’s third-largest city, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates. The city had been passed by Huntsville in 2020 to rank second. – Birmingham Times

 

Manufacture Alabama executive director retiring

Roy McAuley, executive director of Manufacture Alabama for 13 years, announced he’s retiring at the end of 2022. He has also been with the Alabama Pulp and Paper Council for 21 years. – Alabama Political Reporter
