The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama has been named 2021 Chamber of the Year by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.
The award was announced during ACCE’s virtual Chamber Innovation Summit on Tuesday.
“An amazing day,” Jim Page, CEO and president of the chamber, tweeted. “I’m beyond proud of the membership that allows us to do this work, the volunteer leadership that provides the strategic vision and the professional staff that executes at a high level. This is a team win in a community that expects nothing less.”
Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox, also in a tweet, called the win “another championship for @tuscaloosacity and the entire region. … Congrats to @chambertusc on this major accomplishment.”
The Tuscaloosa-based organization was one of four finalists for Chamber of the Year along with chambers in Cumming, Georgia; Leesburg, Virginia; and Fitchburg, Massachusetts.
The finalists and winner were chosen from the 1,600 organizations that are members of ACCE. They were judged by net revenue and assets, membership retention and more.
