Birmingham-based Waverly Advisors has acquired Wall Advisors, based in Florida. It’s the third acquisition by Waverly in 2022 and will allow the group to grow throughout Florida.  – Waverly Advisors

 

Hoover buys building to move administrative offices

The Hoover City Council voted to buy a building on Lorna Road for $1.9 million. It will house the relocated administrative offices for the Hoover Fire Department. The three-story building has about 24,000 square feet.  – Hoover Sun

Incentives commission holds final meeting

A commission studying Alabama’s economic development incentives has held its final meeting and will submit its recommendations to the governor and Legislature. The report will include recommendations for reauthorizing the Alabama Jobs Act and Growing Alabama Act, two economic development incentive programs.  – Alabama Political Reporter

 

Former USA president dies

Tony Waldrop, president of the University of South Alabama from 2014 to 2021, has died at age 70. A statement from current president Jo Bonner says Waldrop died after a lengthy illness. – ABC 3
