Venerable Birmingham-area pizza restaurant gets second location

new Davenport’s pizza location
Vestavia City Center will be home to a new Davenport’s Pizza Palace location.

Davenport’s Pizza Palace, a Mountain Brook institution since 1964, will open a second location in Vestavia Hills in early 2022.

The pizzeria will open in the Vestavia City Center, according to Crawford Square Real Estate Advisors.

“We are excited to bring Davenport’s Pizza Palace to Vestavia,” said Amanda Thames, owner of Davenport’s, a three-generation family-owned restaurant. “The Vestavia City Center is a perfect fit with outdoor seating and family-friendly atmosphere.”

This is not Davenport’s first second location. A location opened in Vestavia in 1980 but closed when the building was sold.

The new location will open in the heart of Vestavia City Center, near the green space and directly next to Taco Mama. It will feature additional outdoor seating options on the green, TVs for watching sports and a family-friendly atmosphere. Davenport’s announcement follows two other new family eateries at Vestavia City Center, Chop’t and Crumbl Cookies, which will open later this summer.
