The U.S. Department of Commerce is giving the University of South Alabama a $644,045 grant to help renovate the school’s Laboratory for Additive Manufacturing, as well as for the creation of a cyber research hub and support of workforce development. The project is funded by the CARES Act. – U.S. Economic Development Administration

Alabama Shipyard awarded $13M contract

Mobile-based Alabama Shipyard LLC has received a Department of Defense contract for $13,066,191 to provide for services for the fleet oiler USNS Patuxent. – U.S. Department of Defense

Alabama A&M University receives largest donation ever

A young alum of Alabama A&M University has given the school $2,187,518.75, the largest gift in the school’s history. (When was it founded? In 1875, hence the amount of the gift.). The donor chose to remain anonymous. – Essence Magazine
