USA Health has topped out the physician office building at the Hillcrest Campus in West Mobile.

“About five years ago, we developed a relationship with Mobile Diagnostic Center to combine a strong community-based primary care group with the specialized medicine of an academic health system. This 90,000-square-foot building is a demonstration of the success of that venture,” said Owen Bailey, chief executive officer of USA Health.

Located just east of the recently opened freestanding emergency department and USA Health imaging center, the three-story physician office building will be home to Mobile Diagnostic Center and specialty care providers to better meet the healthcare needs in the region. Specialty care providers have not been finalized yet, but will most likely include orthopaedic surgery, cardiology, surgery and neurology.

The topping-out ceremony marks the facility reaching its highest point during construction. The University of South Alabama is serving as general contractor on this project, with Persons Services doing the steel work and outside shell of the building. The physician office building is schedule to open in mid-2023.
