Suha Assi has been promoted to CEO of UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement in Alabama.
In this new role, Assi will oversee all things Medicare — from sales to clinical initiatives that help address rising medical expense, while also working with the UnitedHealthcare network of providers on value-based programs.
Assi has been with UnitedHealthcare for five years. During her time with UnitedHealthcare, she has completed the company’s executive development training program.
In addition, her prior experience includes spending 10 years with Cigna-HealthSpring, where she focused on the Medicare population. At Cigna-HealthSpring, she held multiple positions include CMS bid preparation, financial analysis and budgeting, analytical strategy, network management and leading the team responsible for provider value-based contracting.
She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin and earned her MBA from Middle Tennessee State University.
