Lockheed Martin Corp. and Joint Technical Solutions, both of Huntsville, have been awarded Department of Defense contracts, including one worth more than $840 million. They are providing services and equipment to the U.S. Army.

Joint Technical Solutions LLC has been awarded an $840.1 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for test and engineering services. The U.S. Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland received five bids for this contract, with JTS LLC chosen. The work locations will be determined with each order. The estimated completion date of this contract is Feb. 27, 2028.

Lockheed Martin Corp.’s cost-plus-fixed-fee contract is in the amount of $60 million for Long Range Hypersonic Weapon ground support equipment. The work will be performed in Huntsville and should be complete by Feb. 28, 2028.

According to Lockheed Martin’s website, the Long Range Hypersonic Weapon provides ultrafast and maneuverable long-range missiles that are able to be launched from ground mobile platforms. The LRHWs are just one part of the hypersonic systems that Lockheed is involved in. They also make the Air-Launched Rapid Response Weapon and the Conventional Prompt Strike glide missile.
