Investar completes $41.1 million Cheaha Bank deal
Investar Bank of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has completed its $41.1 million purchase of Cheaha Bank. That means Investar now will have four branches in Calhoun County. With its 2019 purchase of the Bank of York, that gives Investar six branches and a loan production office in Alabama – The Advocate

Messervy named BCA director of regional affairs
Kate Messervy, who served as a field representative for former Sen. Doug Jones, has been named director of regional affairs – northern region for the Business Council of Alabama. Messervy will work with BCA members and chambers of commerce in north Alabama in her new position.  – Alabama Today

C Spire expands broadband in Trussville
C Spire has connected it Trussville customers to ultra-fast, fiber-based Gigabit broadband internet, only the second Alabama city (Jasper was the first) to have receive this service from C Spire. This is part of a $1 billion investment that C Spire announced in January. – Broadband Communities

Houston breakfast chain to expand to Dothan
The Toasted Yolk, a breakfast chain based in Houston, Texas, will open locations in Dothan and Memphis, Tennessee, its first outside of Texas. The chain serves breakfast and lunch items and has 15 locations.  – Houston Business Journal

Austal launches ship to San Diego
Austal USA shipyard in Mobile launched its first Navy ship of the year this week, a vessel that will head to San Diego and become the USS Canberra. The ship was the first to use a newly acquired dry dock. – Times of San Diego
