Looking for tech workers? You’re in good company. Alabama leads the nation for the number of tech job openings — adding 1,192 in June for a total of 4,804 tech job postings.
Huntsville, Birmingham and Montgomery all ranked among the top 10 metro areas for tech job openings.
Huntsville, ranking 3rd after San Jose and Colorado Springs, added 479 postings for a total of 1,814 in June. Birmingham, ranking 6th, added 282 opens for a total of 1,212. And Montgomery, ranking 10th, added 180 for a total of 745.
Figures are calculated by CompTIA, an industry association that tracks data in the field.
Beyond IT support, systems engineers and software development, industry-specific IT jobs were added in finance and insurance, manufacturing, retail, health care, public administration and education.
