It will kick off expanded 3-day conference in June.

Deon Gordon is president and CEO of TechBham.

An expanded Sloss Tech conference will include the launch of a Southeast regional pitch competition for startups.

The competition, Sloss.Tech/Ideas, will kick off the three-day conference June 25-27. Startups from across the Southeast will compete for a grand prize of $50,000 in funding. The competition is funded by the Regions Foundation.

In its seventh year, TechBirmingham’s Sloss Tech will take place throughout Birmingham’s historic theater district.

Sloss.Tech/Ideas will feature 16 startups competing in four technology sectors: ag tech and food tech, health tech and biotech, mobility and transportation technology, and emerging tech.

Multiple prizes will be awarded, including $50,000 for best in show, $10,000 for the people’s choice award and three $5,000 category winner prizes.
