Steven Clarke has been appointed to the role of chief executive officer at Silver Ships in Mobile. Clarke is a co-owner of the company, joining the team in 2015. He previously served in the role of chief financial officer.
Current President and CEO Mike McCarty is transitioning to the role of chairman. He has been with the company for 37 years.
In his new role, Clarke plans to continue to pursue the company’s diverse industry growth, while streamlining operations. During his time as chief financial officer, the company has experienced a revenue increase of more than 40%. This has come through his focus on diversification of Silver Ships’ client base.
“Through strategic hiring, employee development, marketing and business development, we have invested in Silver Ships. This investment has had a direct impact to broaden our customer base and grown our revenues,” said Clarke. “I am honored to be able to serve as CEO, and eager to work alongside my team to meet our customer’s demanding missions, continue to innovate in our field and grow the profitability of Silver Ships.”
Clarke began his career as a data analyst at the USDA in North Carolina before moving to financial analyst at Coast Crane Co., a West Coast subsidiary of Essex Rental Corp.
