
Sean Sabel has been named president and CEO of Montgomery-based Sabel Steel Service.
He is the 6th generation of the Sabel family to run the company and succeeds his father, Keith Sabel, who was president and CEO for 35 years.
Sean Sabel began working at the company in 2010 as a scrap metal sorter, working in sales, purchasing, bandsaw operator and, most recently, as COO.
Sabel also serves on the boards of the Montgomery Zoo, Smart Bank and Life House University. He is on the Leadership Development Group for the North American Steel Alliance.
Sabel Steel has been in operation for 168 years. Founded in 1856, the company has nine steel service centers, two scrap-metal yards, a rebar fabrication division and a wholesale center.
