Harris & Doyle Homes Inc., based in Cahaba Heights, has announced plans for two big residential developments in the area, valued at $10 million.
“We’ve really seen a pickup in demand for new homes since the beginning of this year, ” said Brooks Harris, co-president of Harris & Doyle Homes. “Inventory levels have come down significantly across the city since the peak of the market, so there’s not as much to choose from, and prospective buyers have finally decided to take advantage of the historically low interest rates we’re enjoying right now.”
The homebuilder plans 25 cottage and courtyard homes in Trussville Springs and 17 basement homes in Alabaster’s Wisteria subdivision. Prices in Trussville will start in the low $200, 000 range and in Alabaster in the mid-$200, 000 range.
