Pilgrim’s Pride said it is no longer seeking to build a pet food ingredient rendering plant in Etowah County. The company had battled unhappy citizens since announcing its plans for a plant on land owned by the Gadsden Airport Authority. – The Gadsden Times

 

Enviva completes corporate conversion

Enviva Inc. has converted from a master limited partnership named Enviva Partners LP to a corporation named Enviva Inc. The company’s CEO and chairman said this is an “important milestone” for the company. Enviva, the world’s largest producer of wood pellets, is building a plant in Epes.  – Enviva

Birmingham airport avoids cancellation woes

Amid a number of flight cancellations around the country, the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport had only a handful of cancellations within the past week. Those were not due to staffing issues, the airport said. — Birmingham Business Journal
