Russell Lands is planning to build what will be the only multi-use waterfront lake club on Lake Martin.

The Benjamin Lake Club will be part of The Heritage, Russell Lands’ newest lakefront development.

The facility will include a two-story clubhouse with meeting and event space, a bar, catering kitchen, fitness center and locker rooms. Adjacent to the clubhouse will be a resort-style pool with poolside snack bar and a lakeview terrace.

The Benjamin Lake Club’s outdoor features will include a beach, firepits, amphitheater and community docks. Near the clubhouse property will be event lawns, tennis courts, pickleball courts and a tennis pro shop.

“We are excited how The Benjamin Lake Club will enhance the lifestyle and use of The Heritage,” said Russell Lands’ Chief Executive Officer Tom Lamberth. “The lake club will allow property owners a beautiful place to spend quality recreational time with family, friends, and neighbors.”

The Heritage development comprises 1,500 acres and 12 miles of shoreline, with 250 waterfront and 150 water-access properties. It also is home to the nearly complete Coore & Crenshaw-designed golf course and the private Wicker Point Golf Club.

Work on The Benjamin Lake Club will begin this summer, with opening scheduled for spring 2025.
