Motion Industries Inc. is purchasing the operating assets of Canadian-based LSI Supply Inc. and its sister company, 273 Ontario. The transaction is expected to close later this month.
Headquartered in Windsor, Ontario, LSI Supply has five area locations and distributes bearings, seals, power transmission and fluid power components and industrial supplies. It serves agriculture, automotive, food and beverage, marine, plastic injection, renewable energy and tool and die industries. LSI also provides maintenance supplies for the military and wastewater services.
“This acquisition will broaden our leadership position in eastern Canada,” said James Howe, president of Motion. “LSI’s talent, offerings and markets complement Motion’s perfectly. The business culture is an especially good fit, which is critically important when joining forces and providing premier customer service.”
Motion has been actively expanding through acquisition this year. In May, the company announced it was acquiring Allied Circuits, an electrical and automation firm in New York. In February, Motion expected to finalize the acquisition of Perfetto Manufacturing and SER Hydraulics, each located in Sudbury, Canada, and both providing engineered solutions, service and equipment for hydraulic/pneumatic cylinders, complex power units and other assets used in fluid power systems.
Motion has annual sales of more than $8 billion and is a leading distributor of more than 19 million parts and supplies. The company also offers value-added services to customers, including engineering, fabrication, repair and Industry 4.0 solutions. In addition, Motion Automation Intelligence (Motion Ai), Motion Conveyance Solutions and Motion Repair & Services were formed to offer a range of specialized, related products and solutions for many applications.
