Online job ads up 72 percent

Online job ads in August were up 72% from last year, according to the Alabama Department of Labor. Registered nurses and retail salespeople were the top jobs being listed. The data is compiled from all online job postings in the state. – Alabama Department of Labor

$20 million project will transform Moody Hospital into apartments

The 100-year-old Moody Hospital building in Dothan will be turned into senior living apartments in what could be a $20 million project. Project developers are being led by the Banyan Foundation, which also turned the historic Howell School property into apartments.  – Dothan Eagle

 

Vincent named president of United Bank

Mike Vincent, interim president of United Bank since Robert Jones resigned in July, has been named president and CEO of the bank. He joined United Bank in 2006 and was most recently chief credit officer. – United Bank

 

Alabama Motor Express opens new Georgia terminal

Alabama Motor Express, whose headquarter is in Ashford, has opened a new terminal in Jackson, Georgia, less than 50 miles south of Atlanta. The terminal’s pool will include about 60 tractors and more trailers. – The Trucker
