Li-Cycle opens battery recycling facility in Tuscaloosa

Canadian lithium-ion battery recycler Li-Cycle has opened a recycling facility in Tuscaloosa, bringing the company’s total capacity to 1,000 tons of manufacturing scraps. Tuscaloosa was chosen for its proximity to the Mercedes-Benz plant, now heavily involved in electric vehicle production. – TechCrunch

 

ULA nears completion of Vulcan Centaur launch vehicle

United Launch Alliance is nearing completion of its first Vulcan Centaur launch vehicle at its factory in Decatur. It’s awaiting installation of its BE-4 engines, and the launch vehicle should be shipped to the launch site in November. – Cision

Fort Rucker to be renamed after military officer

Fort Rucker will be renamed Fort Novosel after Michael Novosel, a Medal of Honor recipient and resident of Enterprise. Fort Rucker had been named after Col. Edmund W. Rucker, a Confederate officer during the Civil War and a wealthy Birmingham industrialist. – Bama Buzz

Flagship Healthcare Properties, which handles outpatient health care real estate, has acquired a recently completed property on Old Shell Road in Mobile, now fully leased to USA Health. The property is close to several of Mobile’s major hospitals. — Flagship
