Labor fight continues at Amazon’s Bessemer facility

The National Labor Relations Board has issued complaints against Amazon for what they say is a rule that inhibits organizing activity. One complaint deals with the Bessemer fulfillment center, site of two unsuccessful union votes, and Amazon’s off-duty access rule, which bans employees from company facilities when not on shift.  – AL.com

Attorney General Marshall joins nationwide robocall lawsuit

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall has joined a lawsuit against Avid Telecom, alleging the company made about 7.5 billion robocalls to telephone numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry from 2018 to 2023. About 147 million of those were to numbers in Alabama, Marshall says. – Alabama Attorney General’s Office

UNA will host national robotics competitions

The University of North Alabama will be a regional location and the only spot in Alabama hosting national robotics competitions. The competitions, featuring 18,000 middle- and high-school students, take place at 50 sites in 18 states. – Bama Buzz
