Gov. Kay Ivey has awarded $82.45 million to a group of eight electric cooperatives to improve access to broadband in rural areas of Alabama. Gorrie home vandalized

The Mountain Brook home of Brasfield & Gorrie Chairman Miller Gorrie was vandalized over the weekend, and police are blaming opponents of a project in Atlanta where the Birmingham company is a primary contractor. The project is Atlanta’s planned police and fire training center.  – AL.com

Huntsville Amazon facility closed after fire

An Amazon fulfillment center in Huntsville will remain closed while officials look into a fire earlier this week at the facility. The fire Monday night was at the Amazon facility on Greenbrier Road. No employees were injured in the blaze. – News 19
