A $125 million hospital constructed by Birmingham-based Robins & Morton has opened in La Porte, Indiana.
Northwest Health – La Porte Hospital is a 204,000-square-foot acute-care facility with 84 beds, emergency services, inpatient and outpatient surgery, critical care and more.
“It’s an exciting day to see this new facility welcoming patients,” said Jim Poole, Robins & Morton’s senior vice president. “Supporting improved healthcare in the growing La Porte community through construction has been an incredible experience. We’re thankful for the opportunity to have been a part of it.”
Groundbreaking for the project was a little over two years ago. The project involved sustainable building practices and materials, and Northwest Health – La Porte Hospital is pursuing a Green Globes Certification.
Robins & Morton is a privately-held construction firm with offices in Charlotte, Dallas, Huntsville, Miami, Nashville, Orlando and San Antonio, in addition to Birmingham. The firm specializes in health care, hospitality, higher education, entertainment, sports and government construction.
