Hatch launches music accelerator

The 12-week program hopes to amplify artist success and attract industry talent

Hatch, a tech accelerator in Fairhope, has launched a 12-week program designed to combine technology, music and entrepreneurship to amplify artist success, attract industry talent and grow a sustainable music ecosystem.

Over the course of the three months, participating artists will move from concept to release-ready outputs and market launch strategies. Modules will include songwriting and collaboration, production and recording, business and revenue models, marketing and distribution, music technology integration and live performance and touring.

The initial goal is to nurture new music output with local artists, rather than have them seek opportunities elsewhere. The accelerator also plans to stimulate live events, drawing in music tech companies, thereby generating new revenue streams in venue operations, hospitality, merchandising and tourism.

“We’re not just building artists — we’re building the scaffolding of a self-sustaining music ecosystem. Our region should be known as a place where music careers can begin, thrive and scale locally,” said Keith Glines, director of Hatch.

At the end of the program, artists will have a fully produced track ready for release, a go-to-market strategy, ongoing mentorship and peer network and access to Hatch’s industry partner network, including labels, publishers and promoters.
