Hanna Steel investing $20 million in Tuscaloosa expansion

The investment will add equipment and increase company’s footprint

Hanna Steel Corp. is investing $20 million to expand its steel production lines in Tuscaloosa, according to a press release from the Tuscaloosa County Economic Development Authority.

The expansion is expected to create 14 new jobs and will add 9,000 square feet to the steel company’s facility in the Tuscaloosa County Airport Industrial Park.

“Hanna Steel has been a member of the Tuscaloosa business community for more than 30 years, supplying numerous industry sectors with its products and providing quality jobs for the citizens of Tuscaloosa County,” said Norman Crow, chairman for Tuscaloosa County Economic Development Authority. “Our organization and community have supported Hanna’s success since its beginning in 1991, and we look forward to continuing that partnership for another 30 years.”

Hanna Steel’s corporate headquarters are in Hoover, and it has eight tube mills in Alabama and Illinois. The company provides ASTM standard structural and mechanical tubing both domestically and internationally.
