Genpak reopens Hope Hull plant

The company will add 155 new jobs to its existing 145 employees

Genpak LLC employees and Montgomery city and chamber representatives cut the ribbon at the reopening of the company’s plant.

Genpak LLC has expanded and reopened its Hope Hull manufacturing facility, investing $22.8 million. The expansion will add 155 new jobs to its existing 145 employees.

“The U.S. food packaging sector is experiencing a notable surge, and it’s with great enthusiasm that we see Genpak furthering its growth in Alabama,” said Ellen McNair, Alabama Department of Commerce secretary.

Situated at the Hope Hull exit on Interstate 65, the 400,000-square-foot renovated facility is located in Montgomery Industrial Park. In addition to upgrading equipment for production efficiency and safety enhancements, the food service packaging solutions company will also use the facility for distribution.

Genpak has operated production facilities in Alabama for more than 43 years.
