As part of a $1 billion investment in U.S. manufacturing, GE Aerospace will invest $100 million into its facilities in Huntsville and Auburn.

In Huntsville, a $55 million investment will go toward upgraded production equipment and building improvements. In Auburn, a $45 million investment will go toward additive manufacturing and metal production equipment.

The $1 billion investment went to sites across 30 communities in 17 states.

“Maintaining U.S. aerospace leadership requires sustained investment in our people, our facilities, and the technologies that will define the future of flight,” said H. Lawrence Culp Jr., chairman and CEO of GE Aerospace. “This investment is for our customers, our communities and our country.”

Bethany Shockney, president and CEO of the Limestone County Economic Development Association, called the Huntsville investment “a strong vote of confidence in our workforce and our community.”
