gBETA Huntsville selects five startups for fall class

The three-month mentorship program will take place in Huntsville

gBETA Huntsville, a three-month mentorship program, has selected five companies for its fall class of 2024. The early-stage companies are in the categories of ed-tech, sports-tech, consumer goods, med-tech and cybersecurity.

“This talented group of founders demonstrates tremendous potential, and we’re excited to provide the community, tools and network to help them succeed,” said Sierra Pena, managing director of gBETA.

The companies chosen are:

Alset Technologies, a provider specializing in automating IT processes through AI integration. Founded and led by Tyler Nelson, a former Army ranger, Alset’s flagship solution is DASH, which leverages AI to streamline Department of Defense’s Security Technical Implementation Guides compliance. The company is headquartered in Prattville.

Doctours connects Americans experiencing permanent hair loss with top hair transplant clinics around the world. It has a catalog of more than 100 clinics globally. Doctours is led by founder and CEO Girum Tihtina.

Fluyo is a language-learning mobile game, using interactive audio lessons while exploring the world and battling creatures. It is launching in December and currently has a waitlist of more than 150,000 subscribers. The company, led by co-CEO Zack Smith, plans to start with 10 languages upon its initial release.

Neet Sheets will help hotels, hospitals and elderly care facilities save time through its bedding solutions that are ergonomic in design. With several patents and an ongoing ergonomic study being conducted in collaboration with Ohio State University and The Blackwell Hotel, Neet Sheets hopes to expand into larger markets. The company was founded by Ruth Young-Loaeza, a former maid with more than 23 years of experience, and is headquartered in San Diego, California.

Player Intro connects athletes and parents with coaches through 1-1 virtual calls, offering direct access to NCAA coaches and specialized experts for guidance, mentorship and insights. In just three months since its launch, Player Intro has on-boarded more than 60 top-tier coaches and attracted more than 280 athlete signups. Player Intro was co-founded by Joshua Corrow and Lucas Bahn, two former hockey players and students.

The gBETA Fall 2024 showcase is scheduled for December 12.
