Fox Taps Big for Big Super Bowl Spot

When you sit down to watch the Super Bowl on February 2, you might just catch a glimpse of work created by Birmingham-based advertising agency Big.

Big has been selected by Fox Sports Marketing to create a 30-second spot for the Great American Race, NASCAR’s Daytona 500.

“Promoting something as huge as the Great American Race on the biggest stage in all of advertising — that’s kind of a big deal,” said Ford Wiles, Big partner and chief creative officer. “This is the kind of moment that we live for — putting Alabama’s talent on display for the world to see.”

The commercial will feature voiceover from Stephen Dorff, star of Fox’s new cop drama, “Deputy,” as well as shots of NASCAR icon Dale Earnhardt Sr. and the Daytona track and music by Wolfmother.

“Big’s creative team had a genuine understanding of exactly what makes NASCAR fans love the sport with such an unrelenting, unrivaled intensity,” said Blake Danforth, vice president of creative at Fox Sports Marketing.

The commercial is Big’s first Super Bowl appearance in the agency’s 25-year history. Some of Big’s other clients are Valvoline, Google, the Alabama Department of Commerce, Shipt and Southern Co. The company has approximately 57 employees.
