Rob Buddo, who has worked for REV Birmingham since 2019, has been named president and CEO of Downtown Huntsville Inc. Buddo will begin his new duties Dec. 12, replacing Chad Emerson, who will become managing director for Huntsville’s new minor league soccer team. – AL.com

 

Hoover wants to create innovation centers

Hoover wants to turn its Meadow Brook Corporate Park and Inverness Center North into mixed-use innovation centers. Both parks have large office buildings available for lease. Five target growth sectors identified by city officials are information technology, life sciences, freight and logistics brokers, automotive research and development, and corporate headquarters.  – Hoover Sun

The Business Council of Alabama and the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama have announced the 2022 Small Business of the Year Award winners. Gold winners in three categories were Christie Hill State Farm Insurance, Opelika; Jackson Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, Decatur; and Mike Schmitz Automotive Group, Dothan.
