Birmingham-based Doster Construction has broken ground on a 40-bed freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospital for Encompass Health in Greenville, South Carolina.
Complimenting local acute care services, the facility is expected to open in mid-2021 and will care for patients recovering from a variety of debilitating illnesses and injuries, including strokes and other neurological disorders, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions.
The Rehabilitation Hospital of Greenville will offer physical, occupational and speech therapies, as well as 24-hour nursing care. Designed by Frederick & Associates, the facility will feature a large therapy gym, advanced rehabilitation technologies, cafeteria, pharmacy and more.
Doster Construction has worked with Encompass Health on nearly 100 projects. The general contractor, founded in 1969, works with multifamily, healthcare, hospitality, commercial, industrial and educational clients throughout the United States.
