Doster breaks ground on freestanding ER in North Alabama

Crestwood Medical Center’s facility is expected to open to patients in 2024

Doster Construction Co. has broken ground on North Alabama’s first freestanding emergency department.

Located in Harvest at the corner of Highway 53 and Burwell Road, Crestwood Medical Center’s freestanding ER will consist of 11,047 square feet. The facility will have 10 private rooms, radiology and lab services and a helicopter pad for patient transfers. It is expected to open in 2024.

Located in Huntsville, Crestwood Medical Center has 180 beds and approximately 1,280 employees. It was founded in 1965. It offers a number of services, including heart care, women’s health and maternity care, orthopedic services, sleep medicine, robotic and surgical services and more.

Doster Construction, headquartered in Birmingham and founded in 1969, is a general contracting, construction management and design build company. It has built facilities in the multifamily, health care, hospitality, commercial, industrial and educational sectors.
