Work continues to turn a former Burlington Coat Factory building into the Faulkner University College of Health Sciences in Montgomery.

Faulkner purchased the 13-acre Montgomery East Plaza Shopping Center site last June, and Marshall Design-Build LLC is currently renovating the Burlington building.

“The center of health sciences project is going nicely across the way, and it looks like we are on track to complete the first phase … by mid-March,” says Faulkner President Mike Williams.

Classes won’t convene in the new space until fall.

Crews have demolished the interior floors and walls of the building to create 85,000 square feet of empty space. New wiring and water lines have been added, as well as metal framing for new walls.

The new building will include a lobby, labs, research center, classrooms, offices and more. There will also be new frontage and signage.

Faulkner University is a private, Christian liberal arts university based in Montgomery. Marshall Design-Build is also based in Montgomery.
