Construction Partners Inc., a civil infrastructure company based in Dothan but operating across the Southeast, has started operations at a new hot-mix asphalt plant site in Benson, North Carolina.

“The new Benson plant is a prototypical greenfield for us, whereby we expand into an adjacent market based on project opportunities and market dynamics,” said Fred J. Smith III, president and CEO of Construction Partners. “From Benson, we expect to be able to serve the fast-growing Johnston and Harnett County suburbs of the Triangle metro area of Raleigh-Durham.”

Smith added that greenfields like Benson help to continue the company’s long-term growth strategy, building shareholder value.

Construction Partners focuses on construction, repair and maintenance of surface infrastructure and is supported by asphalt plants, aggregate facilities and liquid asphalt terminals. The majority of the company’s work is in publicly funded projects, such as state roadways, interstate highways, airport runways and bridges. In addition, the company performs private sector projects that include paving and sitework for office and industrial parks, shopping centers, local businesses and residential developments.
