Mobile-based Rod Cooke Construction Inc. has been selected by Alabama Industrial Development Training (AIDT) to build the new facility to train workers for the Airbus assembly line.
The $4.5 million facility will house 35, 000 square feet of classroom and lab facilities to provide basic training for potential employees and training for workers who already have been hired.
Mobile’s Watermark Design Group is providing the design for the new building.
Also, Thompson Engineering has been selected for a major engineering package at the new plant. Work will include design for utilities, parking lots, airfield pavements, security, electrical, communications, infrastructure and landscaping.
Hoar Program Management, based in Birmingham, is leading the construction efforts.
