Community College system collaborating on new agriculture credential

The Alabama Community College System is collaborating with the Alabama Forestry Association and Alabama Poultry & Egg Association on a new credential that provides training to high-school agriculture educators and their students. Training for the maintenance technician credential began in June.  – Alabama Political Reporter

 

Fairhope awarded grant for business resource hub

The U.S. Department of Commerce awarded the city of Fairhope a $2.5 million grant to establish a business resource hub for technology entrepreneurs at Hatch Fairhope. The city and the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance are partners on the project.  – City of Fairhope

Hyundai Montgomery exec calls termination ‘retaliation’

A former executive at Hyundai’s Montgomery plant has filed an EEOC complaint alleging she was excluded from leadership functions because of her gender and race. In addition, Yvette Gilkey-Shuford says her position was terminated last month as part of a restructuring limited to her role. That termination followed a draft memorandum dealing with Pride Month and treatment of transgender employees being sent to Hyundai executives in California. – AL.com
