Colleges offer help to BSC students
After the announcement that Birmingham-Southern College will close on May 31, colleges and universities across the state have offered support and help to students who will be displaced. Those offering an expedited transfer process, scholarships and more include the University of Alabama System, Miles College, University of Montevallo, Huntingdon College, Jacksonville State University, University of Mobile, Spring Hill College, University of North Alabama, University of West Alabama and Athens State University. – Bham Now
BAE Systems receives $754 million Army contract
BAE Systems has received a $754 million contract to continue producing armored multi-purpose vehicles for the U.S. Army. The vehicles will be built at a number of locations, including BAE’s facility in Anniston. – PR Newswire
New coastal ADEM office has ribbon-cutting
The Alabama Department of Environmental Management held a ribbon-cutting for its new field office in Mobile. The 15,000-square-foot facility will bring about 30 ADEM staffers, who are currently in two buildings, under one roof. – Fox 10
