Cerrowire, a copper building wire manufacturer in Hartselle, is launching a $100 million expansion, constructing a new facility near its Morgan County factory.

The 270,000-square-foot facility at the Morgan Center Business Park in Hartselle will produce metal clad cable.

“We are looking forward to Hartselle being the strategic location that is a perfect fit for our major new venture and to the creation of over 130 jobs to support this growing community,” Cerrowire President Stewart Smallwood said during an announcement on Wednesday.

Metal clad cable is a metal jacketed cable containing insulated copper or aluminum conductors. End uses for it include commercial building construction, data centers and hospital applications, the company said.

Cerrowire, a Marmon/Berkshire Hathaway company, has plants in Alabama, Georgia, Indiana and Utah.
